Frock Flip Fridays: Celebrity Copy Cat
The Back Story: I have a style crush! Her name is Ryan
Destiny. She is an actress
on the fox TV show Star. Her style is perfection. It’s the
perfect mix of feminine and masculine. It reminds me of Aaliyah. So as I stalked her Instagram and decided to
do two flips inspired by her looks. Here is the first of those flips:
The Idea: Pants with one leg. Such a simple Idea and so
cool! I got the pants from the Goodwill for $6. I made sure to get some that were slim straight and oversized.
Flip Difficulty:
The Process:
Super simple cut of the pant leg and leave the waistband. I
decided to leave the back of the pant leg I wish I hadn’t but I still like the
way the turned out.

#4 Tips For Bleach DIY
The Back Story: Its about to be summer! I love the summer
and that the weather is changing I get to have fun wardrobe planning. One of
the things I definitely into is oversized/boyfriend anything. So when I saw
this vest at the thrift store I had to have it. It was only $6!
The Idea: I wanted to add some bleach details just to spice
it up a little up.
Flip Difficulty:
Tools Needed: Bleach and your choice of denim
The Process: I’m sure you know how to bleach something but
here are 4 of my personal tips for bleach DIY.
·
Tip #1 Use a Gel
o
Depending on the project Gel bleach gives you
more control and less mess!
·
Tip #2 Avoid Super Stretch
o
You can use stretch fabric but make sure that
the fibers are good for bleaching some synthetic fibers don’t bleach well.
·
Tip #3 Double Bag
o
If you are highly sensitive to bleach like I am
(it triggers migraines), Make sure to secure the bleached item in several
plastic bags. It helps to contain the smell.
·
Tip #4 Let it sit
o
If you want to have white as a result let it sit
overnight. That’s how you get the most intense results.
That’s all folks... Do you have an bleach DIY tips?

Frock Flip: Valentines Day Edition/ Anniversary
Valentines flip/ Site anniversary
Original Dress | J Taylor (Thrifted)
The Back Story: Valentine's day is supposed to be a day when you publicly
celebrate the people you love. Usually that love is romantic. I wont go
into my usual spill but I will say if you don't have romantic love, don't let
it make you feel in adequate. Use today as a day to celebrate the love you have
for yourself. We all want to be loved but being down about it won’t change
that. Usually I take myself out and buy myself something nice. This year I
going to just make sure I’m happy with whom I am inside! No gifts and no plans.
Here is a look I flipped THIS MORNING LOL! I wanted badly to flip something for
Valentines Day, as it is the first post I did last year when I started this
site. Its not only Valentines Day it's like my site anniversary.
The Idea: I wanted to flip this blazer style dress I
purchased last Valentines day (10 Cent from Buy the Bag). Since its V-day/ U-Day I wanted to make it sexy
to remind myself I still have it. There
are no details of how I accomplish this because after cutting the sleeves, I
really don’t know what else I did LOL!
Thrift Transformation: Yellow Scoop Neck Dress DIY/ Refashion
The Back Story: I am contemplating moving the Frock Flip
headquarters. So I wanted to try and flip something just in case the madness of
a move takes over. I found this dress
while I was sorting my clothing. I got it a few months ago at Housing Works Buy
The Bag store for about 20 cent! After staring at it for a few days, I did a
few sketches and came up with the final look.
*video illustration tutorial below
The Idea: As usual had to make it sexy! I promise I didn’t realize that I make such
revealing clothing until I started this website! HA. I saw a dress that had
long splits on both side and it inspired me for this look. I wanted to accentuate my legs and neck.

Here are a few tips for slaying New Years at the Thrift Store:
1. Most thrift stores will merchandise a rack or rounder with all things New Years. Check there first!
2. If you don't find anything there than hunt down things based on color or texture: metallics, black, velvet!
3. Don't be afraid to flip it( upcycle it)! I have to cut the split into this dress and I loved it so much more
